When you visit a festival, there is always a lot happening and often you miss bits because you are somewhere else. It is for this reason that people like DVD’s like this one. GoldCoast was held over 3 days on 2 different beaches and because of this you couldn’t see all of the action.
GoldCoast OceanFest is a 90 minute film which covers every event that happened at the weekend. This leaves you with 11 different sports and a host of event associated with each. Added to this we have yours of the festival and also coverage of the live music which happened everyday, a total of 19 artists.
Music performed by the bands in attendance provides a backdrop to footage of a range of sports, including surfing, kite surfing, beach volleyball and beach soccer, surfboats, skateboarding and BMX.
Once you have finished with the sports action, you can chill out by watching interviews with members of the bands who performed live on the main stage and also watch footage of their performances.
Croyde was blessed with beautiful blue skies, roasting sunshine and good waves all weekend and this shows us the festival is all of its glory. This has meant that the video shot throughout the weekend looks stunning and the whole film will leave you pining for the beach and the hot weather.
Although once or twice the pace may seem a slow for some people, it never actually gets boring and you can happily watch it all in one sitting. The entire piece is very well put together and has benefited from some well shot footage
At the end of the 90 mins I just wanted to go to the beach, even though it is only March. Having missed last years event, watching the film has made me certain tat I wont be missing this years – I cant wait.
